Grower Accountant
Job Details:
The Grower Accountant’s primary responsibility is to manage Grower settlement systems and processes in accordance with Grower Agreements using Famous accounting software. This includes compiling and preparing work papers to support the preparation, review, and analysis of Grower settlement returns. Secondary responsibilities include process improvement project management to support increased efficiency and accuracy in Grower settlement processes. This includes working with users to understand the operational needs and concerns, then research and recommend improvement solutions. This position will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc reporting functions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage and review all Grower Agreements.
- Manage AR, AP, & Grower charges in Famous including auto charges.
- Review and resolve periodic exception reporting.
- Collaborate with Sales regarding timely Trouble & PAS return receipts.
- Collaborate with the Credit & Collections Manager regarding unpaid balances.
- Review and approve invoice adjustments.
- Calculate and process Grower advance payments.
- Calculate and process Grower settlement payments & distribute reporting.
- Prepare grower settlement reconciliation and status reporting for periodic Management review.
- Review and respond to Grower inquires and requests.
- Prepare FOB reporting reconciliation for periodic Management review.
- Support and implement Accounting & Finance objectives, while constantly working towards improving processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with Operational Leadership regarding Famous improvement requests.
- Prepare project requirement reporting for review including time to complete and additional resource cost required.
- Periodic review with Executive Management regarding project approval, prioritization, and status updates.
- Any other job duties as assigned.
What you should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required. Experience, and other training or certification may be substituted for education.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferred.
- Highly Proficient Microsoft Office knowledge and skills.
- Extensive General Ledger systems knowledge.
- FAMOUS software knowledge is highly preferred.
- Strong Business acumen, organizational and administrative skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving skills, especially within a highly innovative environment.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking skills, and proactive thought leadership.
